The Texas State LBJ Student Center renovation and expansion project will be a 20,500 square-foot eye-catching centerpiece on the Texas State campus. The project integrates multiple structural systems that will act in concert in the new design at the completion in January 2020.
Bringing a unique shape and modern appeal to the exterior is a 30′ tall, 90′ long curtain wall on the building with no visible structural supports. Inside, a new Multicultural Center will be included in the expansion, along with an additional ballroom for conferences and fairs, several new gathering spaces, and extra seating in the Amphitheater.
Despite the challenges of interfacing with existing structures and balancing the schedule, the Structures team was able to successfully support the architect’s design. The result will be an incredible feature on the Texas State campus for students, alumni, and guests to enjoy.
