Adaptive Reuse

As the central Austin area has grown through the years, the process of adapting old structures for alternate purposes has also grown.

Urban Townhouse

The environmentally conscious process of redeveloping older buildings closer to urban cores reduces the amount of sprawl and helps conserve land. Structures has worked with owners, architects and contractors to change the primary function of countless structures. When working on these projects, our priority is to help retain some of the existing architectural details that make the building unique while assuring that the structure is stable and able to serve its new function.

In order to accomplish this, Structures maintains a project-team approach to combine our strengths with that of the design team’s intent. We take an in-depth understanding of both short-term and long-term aspects of a building and couple that knowledge with innovative thinking to navigate through construction obstacles.
When altering a historic building, our knowledge of historic design and building practices allows us to provide cost effective solutions
to altering the existing structures.
