Pinthouse Brewing

The team behind Pinthouse Pizza restaurants all across Austin decided to turn an old dance hall location into their very own brewery.

The almost 30,000 SF pre-existing, pre-engineered metal building was basically a very tall warehouse. Structures designed new foundation footings to support the addition of a mezzanine level and new interior structures.

The new, elevated mezzanine includes administrative offices and “R&D” space for the brewmasters, and also has a private tasting room with catwalks for viewing and access. The first floor features a large tasting room and kitchen facilities along with both indoor and outdoor dining areas.

This project was challenging because of the repairs needed to address existing conditions, while also preparing for the addition of the Versadeck mezzanine system. New exterior wall openings and custom, pivoting steel windows for the interior wall separating dining areas from the kitchen were all important structural design considerations.
