The Crossings
The Crossings is a resort and wellness center located in the Texas Hill Country, which offers lodging, meeting spaces and spa services. The center’ location offers several native attributes that were incorporated into the site design and layout of the buildings.
Although the center is comprised of several buildings, Structures was only a part of the design for the Fallen Oak Room, Solidago Sanctuary, bunk house, two lodges, maintenance building and retaining walls for the courtyard area.
The stand-alone, single level conventionally wood framed Fallen Oak Room building is approximately 2,000 sf and offers a private meeting space with complete audiovisual systems, kitchen and restrooms.
The 800 sf single level Solidago Sanctuary is accessible by a trail and was designed to be an intimate spiritual retreat. The Sanctuary’s roof is framed by a three dimensional wood timber truss system with hidden steel plate truss connections.
The bunk house is a two story, approximately 6,600 sf, conventionally wood framed building supported by a beam stiffened slab on grade foundation. It includes a central open courtyard.
The two lodges are approximately 4,800 sf each and are supported by a two story conventionally wood framed system bearing on a combination of beam stiffened slab on grade and pier and beam type foundations.
The maintenance building is a steel framed 6,300 sf, single level facility supported on a beam stiffened slab on grade system.
