Adaptive Re-Use
As the Austin area has grown through the years the process of adapting old structures for purposes other than those initially intended has also grown. This efficient and environmentally conscious process of redeveloping older buildings in urban cores reduces the amount of sprawl, helps conserve land as well as our structural history.
Structures has worked with owners, architects and contractors to change the primary function of countless structures. When working on such projects it is important to maintain the original architectural intent while assuring the structural stability in serving its new function.
With the recent economical trends more owners are looking toward the adaptive reuse process to meet their immediate demands without having to make the financial investment that a new structure or addition requires. Structures is able to offer years of experience to owners that are not familiar with this process resulting in design solutions that exceed the owner’s initial expectations.
